In the retail environment, most stores work in similar ways. Walgreens, CVS, Rite-Aid all have  the same services and merchandise available for a customer to choose from. These retail store have similar inventory systems, photo departments,  pharmacy regulations, and customer loyalty cards. However, Walgreens has innovated ways to stand out from their competition. They created Extraordinary Customer Care. This new program was created after research concluded that there was no emphasis on customer service. To differentiate themselves, they focused on giving customers a great experience that will keep customers coming back.

Business Process
In pharmacy, when a prescription comes in, the pharmacist verifies it using Intercom Plus. This system allows the pharmacist to verify that the patient has not filled the same medication elsewhere.

For the front of the store, managers use AS400 to print signs, check incoming inventory, and check for pending invoices.

The store manager uses Kronos to send payroll, StoreNet to check daily numbers, and e-mail to communicate with other managers.

Putting up warehouse is door to shelf. Additional team members are scheduled to help put out merchandise.
