Walgreen's is the most trusted pharmacy in America. It started as a local pharmacy and from the beginning, Charles R. Walgreen, made it his goal to be different from every other pharmacy in the region; offering services in retail, photo, and most importantly pharmacy. Developing their one of a kind computer systems in 1981 for retail and pharmacy, Intercom was developed by Gupta Technologies now known as Unify. Their pharmacy however has more technology that meets the eye of consumers, they use it links all databases through a VSAT satellite system linking all pharmacies. This enables a patient to fill prescriptions anywhere in the country. Also using the unique Yuyama that states that it can reduce up to 9 labor hours for 500 filled prescriptions. Lastly, technology of Walgreen's has increased to the mobile devices by using a quick app with one touch. Application Programming Interface their system that interacts with other applications within a database. Walgreen's opportunity for greatness and services all include their products as well as departmental hierarchy, medical amenities, and mail services and along with convenient online and mobile services. Offering these services expands outcomes and lower costs for customers and including employers, managed care organizations, health care, and the public sector.
